Who We Are
We are the co-founders of Edible Balconies — María Paz Gardiazabal and Beatriz Irarrázabal.
Our journey together began with a simple question: How can we live more sustainably in our urban environment? We both love growing food, and since we didn't even have a garden ourselves, we started wondering: is it possible to grow food and recycle our own organic waste at home?
From that question, the idea of Edible Balconies was born. We created a modular vertical garden with integrated composting that transforms kitchen scraps into fertile soil and makes it easy to grow fresh, healthy food at home.
We believe every balcony, rooftop, and public space has the potential to become a green, productive hub — where food is grown, waste is transformed, and people reconnect with nature.
